Guys,
I have been thinking about how to reach a wider audience with the KWG
message and get more donations - it's an extension of how how we were
discussing the 30 second pitch during the retreat.
We could increase our reach by creating a KWG video (if one does not
already exist) and using YouTube to get the message out. We should
be able to use this to capture attention that we would not have
otherwise and use the video to drive traffic to the site for
donations.
If we already had an audience for this in place we could create
regular status updates, or even emergency appeals like the current one
for emergency survival kits.
The updates could contain "interviews" with Mr. Okidi and others about
the situation and other news etc in either a video, or more likely
audio format, perhaps as podcasts that we then try to get added to
iTunes etc.
Finding time to do this will definitely always be an issue. But I
think we could piece together together some kind of video script in a
weekend, and then go to shoot it and gather material another
weekend, production and editing for another etc. The key thing would
be to make sure that it looks professional, both in script, editing,
composing etc.
To me the key thing is to start increasing the audience in any way we
can and get the message out there - this could definitely be a part of
that.
Let me know what you think of these ideas.
