[Kwg-list] Kenyan update

Hello Everyone,

I spoke with Mr. Okidi yesterday morning and recorded our conversation
with his permission to allow people here to be able to learn more
about the situation in Rongo, Kenya.  Every day things are changing in
his home area and although we are still not out of the woods, things
for the moment seem to be settling while the government is in
negotiations.

I have attached an MP3 file of our phone conversation if you are
interested in the detailed update from his mouth.  The conversation
was recorded Wednesday Jan 8th at 6:00am EST so forgive my half
asleep, somewhat groggy voice.  It may be difficult for people to
understand his accent if you are not used to it, however I'd be happy
to clarify if anyone has questions.

I'll likely be calling him again tomorrow (Friday morning).

One comment Mr. Okidi made that wasn't recorded was that he has been
able to check his email but not respond at this point.  He told me he
is extremely grateful for the outpouring of messages received from his
friends in Canada and told me that this has been a source of
tremendous encouragement and strength for him in the face of all the
fear that he has been feeling these past 2 weeks.
