[Kwg-list] Kenya Working Group Update and Thank You

Hello Everyone,

I can hardly believe it has been a month since the Images from Africa Photo
Exhibit to raise money for the Kenya Working Group took place.  The event
was a tremendous success and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank
everyone who was able to come out to the show and for your support in our
fundraising efforts.  As a result, we were able to raise enough money to
cover our costs and pay for surgeries for 5 children who otherwise would not
have been able to afford it.

Despite the silence from my e-mail box, there has been a great deal of
activity within the Kenya Working Group.  Several people have requested to
join the group and offer their volunteer services and we are very excited to
have new members from a variety of professional backgrounds.  Additionally,
I'd like to welcome Viola Kwok, our new Financial Officer and Raj Suppiah
who has taken on the role as the KWG Communications Officer.

Before the year winds down, I'd like to invite members of the group to a
casual get together after work Thursday December 14th 6pm till whenever at
Smokeless Joe's on John Street in Toronto. It will be a great opportunity to
meet our new executive as well as our new members and to informally
celebrate the accomplishments of our group over the past year.
