[Kwg-list] A rocky start to our honeymoon!

Hello Friends,
 Well, our honeymoon has not been the picture perfect adventure in Africa as
we had hoped. As some of you may have known, Mike began to feel unwell on
the flight from Toronto and by the time we reached Heathrow, he had
developed a severe fever for which we got some Ibuprophen to take care of.
He seemed alright in Nairobi but then quickly became feverish and developed
a sore throat. To make a long story short, we have spent the first week of
our honeymoon adventure staring at each other across his hospital room in
Kisumu as we await his severe laryngeal tonsillitis! His fever seems to want
to return nightly and has been an ongoing concern! The up-side is that we
have managed to land in an extremely nice hospital with excellent staff that
are very capable and even more friendly.
 During the day we have been entertaining ourselves by watching programmes
on t.v. such as "Indian Idol"... the Indian version of Canadian or American
Idol,... we try to figure out the rules of a cricket game that never seems
to end (we've begun to make up our own rules) and we have been watching kids
cartoons such as "Spaced Out"... Last night we even managed to see the final
episode of "Friends"!
 Our Luo hosts have been marvelous to try and restore Mike to his original
superman status. They have even been trying to teach us a few words which
when we use them causes everyone to laugh.
 All in all, not what we had anticipated but we are safe and if everything
went without a hitch than the journey would be full of the stories of lions
and elephants that you have all heard before. Please keep us in your
prayers.
